CRIMINAL JUSTICE:
RE-ENTRY & REFORM

After having a grant proposal rejected that would address employment skills for recipients of benefits from state and federal social service agencies, it came to the attention of Edward Menifee the founder of the BASICS (Bar Association Support to Improve Correctional Services) World of Work Program.

This program is conducted throughout the sixteen Transitional and Diversion Centers in for men and women that are close to release from incarceration. This 10-week program is supported by the State Bar Foundation of Georgia.

After traveling to the Atlanta Women’s Transitional Center for our training, we were partnered with another instructor, Mr. Ben Kelly to provide the training at the Augusta Transitional Center. We have graduated more than 200 men from this program.

We are now expanded through partnership with the Governor’s Office of Re-entry’s Healing Communities of Georgia Initiative. We provide post release job training, counseling, healthcare, clothing, etc. through members of the local consortium of business, faith and non-profits.

We are currently partnering our EMERGE™ Initiative with Second Chance Job Training to provide Construction, HVAC, Electrical, Solar Panel Installation, Plumbing Trades in a unique program of classroom and on-the-job training, and apprenticeships.
